About Obi

Obi is a great boy and loves people. He is quite large and might do better without small children in the home. He also loves all kinds of animals, but perhaps too excitedly to share a home with them. He loves other dogs, but is quite anxious meeting new/strange dogs (understandably as he has been bitten by dogs that seemed to be afraid of his size/energy). When we first got him from the shelter, he had a bad lung infection and a lot less energy and drive to play. Now that he is healed, he is a totally different boy and will thrive as a family dog with a yard or acreage. He knows how to get along and make his desires know, in typical ridgie fashion. I got this guy to be an emotional support animal and to train as a service dog. Once he recovered from his lung infection, it was clear that he is not interested in the work. I have put off re-homing him to work on training and because it is hard for my heart to say goodbye to him. It is now time to find a great home for him so that I can get a service dog to meet my needs and so Obi can start the rest of his life with his forever family.
