About

Adoption Fee: $75
Boxer mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Boxers are known for their unbridled loyalty, incredible non-stop energy, and curiosity. Maya is all that and more. Affectionately known as 'wiggle butt' or 'kidney bean,' she loves to sit next to you and cuddle on the couch or lie next to you in bed. She is one heck of a good dog that knows how to obey most common commands (sit, stay, lie down, leave it, come here, drop it, etc.) Potty trained. Crate trained. Loves her crate and will spend most of her time sleeping in it during the day if you are at work. And she loves to sleep with a slightly noticeable doggie snore (but does not wake me up at night). She is so well-behaved, its bonkers. Loves to play all day long if you have the time and energy. Now for the funny bits - She can be hilariously clumsy every few days or so and has run into countless objects repeatedly like the side of the couch or coffee table, walls, doors, and people. She reminds me of a love-struck cartoon character who cannot seem to look straight or walk straight when she is staring at something. When we took her to the park, she runs with the best of them and more. Personality. In three words: Loving, playful, excitable. Can be excited very easily. Loves to run and jump in the backyard. Can get to digging but has not torn up the yard before. Color: All-over and deep caramel brown with white paws and a couple of white splotches. Black nose starting to grey/white. Loves: Running, playing with people, kidney-beaning, chew toys, sleeping, eating, lapping up water. Dislikes: Gets scared during storms and fireworks displays. Can sometimes aggressively play with only male dogs to prove dominance. For that reason, we limit her exposure to certain dominant breeds. Reason for adoption: We do not want to put Maya up for adoption, but it is important to know that our family size has grown and that has left less and less time for her each week. We want her to be with a fun-loving family who wants to run and play with her. She lives for daily walks, which we have not been able to keep up with. Additionally, as we have started to travel more, and must leave her behind, traveling for us has also become difficult as of late.
