About Moana

Moana absolutely loves everyone she meets. Moana was relinquished to the shelter after she broke one of her front legs. Unfortunately, her previous owner did not relinquish her until 5 months after the fracture, causing it to heal on its own. After consulting with an orthopedic surgeon it was decided not to do surgery as it would require to renewal her leg and she has no issues unless she does a lot of running around or jumping. Where Moana loves other dogs she will not be placed in a home that has any other young dogs. The excitement of another young dog and she just wanted to run, jump and play 24/7 and that's the only time we've ever seen her limp. Also young energetic children might not be the best fit either for the same reasons. Her current foster is retired and Moana has been thriving in her care just bring her companion and hanging out with her. And we are hoping to find a similar situation. Normal day to day activities and walks has never gave her any problems and would never know history from this if we didn't tell them. Due to her breed we expect to get a lot of interest in Moana and have said what we are looking for. We will not be able to respond to all messages we get on her and will prioritize responding to those that have taken the time to read our adoption procedures and submitting a completed application.
