About Oreo

Oreo is a gorgeous 4 year old Lynx-Point Siamese with a playful personality. She was found malnourished and flea ridden in an old neighborhood when she was 4 months old, and she battled high liver enzymes in the first two years of her life. Oreo has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She's always been a playful cat, and her favorite toy is the Pet Zone Play-N-Squeak Mousehunter Cat Toy from Walmart. She CANNOT live without one and kicks and carries it around every day and night. Her owner has purchased several over and over again due to Oreo playing with it so much that it wears out! With her playful personality comes some anxiety. The environment Oreo is in is a high-stress, often noisy household with frequent visits by small children, which exacerbates her anxiety. She's also anxious and aggressive around other cats, though she's fine with the other male cat in her current home. Oreo does well on anxiety medication, Feliway spray, and calming treats. No other methods of treating her anxiety have been tried, but a Feliway diffuser, calming food, and calming collar should be considered. Oreo is afraid of thunderstorms, rain, and tornado sirens. Her go-to reaction is to hide under the couch until the storm passes or sirens stop. Oreo has not been around dogs, but she has been around one new cat briefly, and Oreo was instantly afraid and aggressive. She would do best in an environment that is mostly uneventful with a small family, no young children, and no other cats. She has also never been outside since she was a small kitten. Oreo's the sweetest at the calm moments during the day and especially early morning. She loves rubbing against her owner's legs and even 'grooming' her owner's cheeks with sandpaper kisses! After playing with her favorite mouse toy or lounging on her cat tree, Oreo loves stretching out on and sleeping between any of her humans' legs when they're relaxing on the couch or rocking chair. She'll sleep on their legs or lap for hours! Oreo eats Science Diet dry cat food and is on an eating schedule of 1.5-2 tablespoons of food four to five times per day: morning, noon, afternoon and/or suppertime, and around 9:00 p.m. Oreo would love to go to her fur-ever home ASAP so she doesn't have to become a permanently outdoor cat or possibly a barn cat as the new environment and outdoor dangers are things Oreo has never been exposed to and would only make her more anxious and fearful.
