About Old Yeller

Lab / Mastiff
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Old Yeller This is Old Yeller (HWTH#18342A). He is a Yellow Labrador Retriever mix, DOB: 11/15/15. Old Yeller weighs approximately 50-60 pounds and stands 21 inches at the shoulders. Old Yeller is one of 17 dogs rescued from a hoarder in the Antelope Valley. They were all found to be malnourished and all have had a lack of socialization. The volunteers with Halfway to Home are doing their best to make sure all these dogs get the kindness, medical care and a start on the socialization they need to fit into their new Forever adoption homes. Old Yeller is very sweet but very timid with strangers. He requires lots of patience and TLC. He warms up quickly when treated with kindness and likes affection. Old Yeller does not show signs of aggression. With lots of love, good-quality human companionship, structure, playtime, exercise and some training he should adapt easily to his new Forever home. When Old Yeller is thoroughly comfortable, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training, other obedience commands and the bonding process. Once he has bonded with his new owner, he will be a loyal canine companion. Old Yeller does best when there are other dogs in the household and he is crate trained. He cannot go to a family with children as their loud voices and fast motions frighten him. For more information on Old Yeller, please call Sandy at tele # 661-824-4495 (this is a land-line phone).
