About Maui

Maui is a 5 month old male cat. He has very soft, medium thickness fur. He is up to date on all shots/ fully vetted. He is negative for fiv and felv. He is also neutered. He is fearful of other cats at the current time. I rescued him from a bad situation where another other cat was always attacking him. He needed to be removed from that situation asap. Right now, he needs a calm and quiet house where he can learn how to relax. He is good with older kids (mine are 12 and 14). He sleeps on my son's pillow at night, and likes to lay on his desk while he is on his laptop. Maui is scared around other cats. He will need time and patience in order to get over this, or a home without other cats. I have 4 adult cats who are totally ignoring him, but he is still tense/ fearful/ watchful. Sometimes he will sit next to them, and other times, he tries to swat them or growls. I also have 2 foster kittens and he is very nervous/ aggressive around them for some reason. I do not know how he is with dogs at all. He seems a bit fearful in general but I have only had him for a few days. He likes to spend quiet time in my son's room which is like a safe space for him. I have committed to taking another rescue cat and would like to see Maui find a loving home with someone who can help him overcome his fear of being attacked by other cats. Adoption fee to help cover vet costs of over $300 at my vet. He had never had any vetting or shots, so I had to do it all at once.
