SENIOR CHOW GIRL ZOEY NEEDS A NEW HOME OR RESCUE ASAP IN CENTRAL CA. PLEASE HELP! This is Zoey, a purebred, senior chow girl who was once an AKC show girl, is now in need of an immediate new home or rescue as her current owner can no longer care for her. Zoey was also once used to breed and then given away at approximately age 7 to the current owner who has kept her outside in the mountains for the past 6 years. She was allowed to sleep in an enclosed patio in the winter where she did not have any accidents. Zoey had been spayed and recently groomed and did well with groomers. We are told she is up to date on shots with no known medical issues other than she seems deaf now, and has no bite history. However, she was previously heavily matted. Zoey used to be around other dogs, but has not been around anyone or any other dogs in a very long time. After hearing about her case, we had a volunteer go visit her her and obtain pictures. Zoey is nice, but is your typical chow who is aloof at first. She is likely to warm up more once she feels safe and loved. Her current owner has a bad back and cannot care for her, so we need to find a safe and loving place for her asap. Zoey is approximately 13 years of age now.
