About MOCHA

Meet Mocha 6 years old 40 lbs Brooklyn, NY At the New York City shelter where Mocha arrived, a volunteer called her 'half gremlin, half piglet, and 100% sweetheart'! It's all smiles and fun with Mocha, an ever so slightly chunky low-riding lady. She is energetic but easy to walk on a leash, and oh, does she love her snacks. So much that she oinks and grunts like a sweet little pig in anticipation of them. She is a well-cared for, super sweet girl who will snuggle her way into your heart with her soft brownish-black bat ears and bubbly personality. While we don't know Mocha's full history, we do know that her former owner became ill and Mocha was surrendered suddenly. She took the transition hard and attached herself very quickly to her foster mom, showing us how much love she has to give and how ready she is to invest in her new home. Despite her painful mid-life transition, she finds true zen in testing her head in your lap or snuggle up In your arms like the loyal velcro dog she is. Affectionate doesn't even begin to cover how much Mocha loves affection or the extent of her love for people. Every person we pass on the street gets a friendly look and strangers are met with joy. Mocha loves playing ball, chewing bones, doing her once-daily zoomies, and following you room to room wagging her tail. She knows basic commands and is sharp as a tack so we think she would benefit from even more advanced training. She has no resource guarding, is very well-mannered with food, and takes treats nicely. Mocha is friendly with other dogs, seems to favor males but can be selective, and plays rough, so she will need a meet and greet with a future doggie housemate. Mocha can be anxious when left alone and would do best in an active home with loving company. She is also heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all shots and vet visits.
