About Mojave

Mojave is a 5-year-old, 70-lb possible German shepherd and corgi mix currently being fostered in Sarasota, FL (Sarasota County). This girl's favorite thing to do is relax and nap, whether it's inside on a soft bed or out in the sunshine. This couch potato loves scratches, belly rubs, plush toys, treats and meal times. Mojave is house trained and has done excellent when alone while her humans work during the day. She is crate trained, but has not needed to be crated when left alone. She knows her name, comes when called, and sits on command. She is working on becoming more confident on a leash, as past experiences have left her uncomfortable. Mojave has an old injury to her back, left leg, which gives her a bit of a limp/hop. Her leg does not seem to cause her any pain, and she is not sensitive to people touching it. She is able to put weight on it, but she prefers to hop around. She has no trouble getting around the house, hopping up on the couch, and having bursts of energy out in the yard. Because of this injury she is only active for short periods of time. Mojave is not a fan of energetic or overly excitable dogs, although she would do well with another mature dog in the home. She is compatible with cats. She would do best in a household with no children or older, respectful children. Mojave is a fantastic dog and would thrive with someone looking for a low-key pup that just wants to spend time by their side. Mojave is not suited for apartment living and would do best in a quiet home with a secure yard. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines.
