About Sinatra

Sinatra is a sweet, mellow and lovable 9 year old, 55-pound male Lab/Hound mix in search of a forever home! This handsome fellow has been well-loved and cared for his entire life but ended up at an overburdened animal facility in rural Kentucky when his owner fell onto hard times and could no longer care for him. Sinatra is in excellent shape for his age and still has a lot of love to give! He'll be a great companion for a household looking for an easy-going dog that is past the puppy stage. He loves people and is very affectionate. He also loves long walks and a good game of fetch but is just as happy to cuddle on the couch with his favorite humans. Sinatra is quiet and well behaved in the home and is crate trained and housebroken. He is currently being fostered with multiple other dogs and gets along fine in the pack but would be best as the only male dog in the home or he'd also be just as happy as the one and only dog in the home. Unfortunately, Sinatra has tested positive for heartworm. He is in the early stages of infection with no clinical symptoms and we are very optimistic he will recover fully after treatment! Sintra has begun the first stage of treatment and is doing very well. Heartworm treatment takes place in stages over a couple of months. We do allow dogs to go to their new homes during treatment so they can begin adjusting to their new lives as long as the adopters are comfortable caring for the dog during treatment. Pal's Place covers 100% of the cost of treatment at one of our partner vet clinics. Because of this, we are only considering local adoptions for Sinatra (Chicago and neighboring areas) to ensure he'll be able to complete his treatment though our partner clinics. Sinatra is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up-to-date with flea prevention. His adoption fee to the rescue is $300. Sinatra is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been submitted and approved.
