About Konig or Bubba

American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

My boy is six years old and neutered. He will need to be sent to a rescue where they can retrain him in all the proper ways carefully and introduced properly to other dogs his size or bigger and children 10 years and older. I have had him since he was eight weeks old. I got him with my daughters father before my daughter was born. I did all the research possible about owning a pit before making my decision about getting him. I knew my decision was perfect about getting him. I was in a serious relationship with my daughters father at the time when I got him. I trained him properly, introduced him to all dogs possible, people and children from day one. When my daughter was born April of 2015 I knew he instantly got more protective of his family and home. One day when my daughter was a month I had him and my daughter in the car just getting back from taking a drive and was in our driveway. I never needed to put him on a leash on our own property. I let him out of the car first as I was getting my daughter out of the car, he seen someone walking on the sidewalk towards our house and ran up on him. He ran up on the random stranger and barked in front of him. When I got to our front porch and called his name he immediately came back home. That was the first sign I knew he was extremely protective of his family and home. When my daughter was seven months old I left her dad and moved in with my mom and step dad. My boy had already been well introduced and knew them as family. When my daughter was 11 months old her father had told me to go to his house and take the dog back because he had gotten into trouble with the law. That same day I went and rescued him from that horrible home. I don't know exactly what happened besides that the house was raided by the police. When I arrived he was inside his crate (where he as always loved and felt safe in) the house was a mess and there was his dog poop in piles all over the house. My mom and step dad agreed to have him has their own since that day because they knew how amazing he was. Everything was great for a couple years. Then my older sister was in a situation where she could no longer have her lab/rot mix at the place she was at. Her dog was about 3 years old. At first my dog and sisters dog got along great. Played in spacious backyard amazingly. One day they were both outside and my sisters dog attacked my dog. My dog never actually bit my sisters dog anywhere, but my sisters dog bit him on his front left leg. My mom, step dad and myself just thought maybe they were fighting over a toy or something along the lines of that. Unfortunately my sisters dog attacked my dog two more times on first sight after that. Again my dog never bit the other dog while fighting. We knew then to never have the dogs near each other again. One day my sisters dog ran out of the door while my dog was in the yard and my dog went right after him and bit him in the face. Me and my family never wanted to take the chance of my dog going after another dog so always kept him away from other dogs the same size or bigger. But whenever I was would walk my dog on a leash around the neighborhood, dogs would in the front yard unleashed and my boy wouldn't do anything but continue to walk straight with me. My boy is particular about males who he likes and doesn't like. He doesn't like men who he first meets with hats as well. As always barked like crazy at men who shows up he doesn't know or wears hats. July 4th of this year is when my worst nightmare came true. Because of my mom and step dad having a party for the 4th we kept him in his crate in the basement during the day. I would go and get him once every hour to let him go potty. At one time I kept him on his leash around everyone in the backyard and he sat right next to me and let people come up and pet him. Later on that night when all the fireworks in the neighborhood including my house I kept him in his crate in the basement. After everything was done we let him back out around only the people he knew and trusted. There was a five a year old girl in the backyard playing by herself. My boy was sitting on a chair with me. He didn't know anyone was in the yard (there is a back patio separated by a gate to the grassy backyard) the gate was left open. The five year old little girl has been around him numerous times with no issues at all. He jumped off the chair because he heard her walking towards us. That's when he went towards her and bit her in the face. He did bit her hard enough to rip her cheek open where she needed surgery to stitch it back together. I was three feet away when he bit her. She instantly started crying and I knew instantly what had happened before seeing anything. When I got to the little girl he was sitting right next to her. She has stitches on her on right cheek in the shape of a lower chase m.
