About Tara

(DOB 06/02/2020) Beautiful, poised and intelligent! Tara's stoic beauty just takes your breath away! Tara is a 9 week-old Husky/Shepherd mix. Her mom is a full-blooded Husky. Her dad is a Husky/Shepherd. We expect her to be between 45 and 55 lbs when full grown. At first meeting she can be seemingly reserved in her behavior, but it doesn't take long for her to become a high-octane, friendly, playful, mischievous pup. When excited, she often hops like a grasshopper or bunny and can go from zero to 60 in no time flat. She is dog friendly and people friendly, but she is a very mouthy pup that will playfully latch on to ankles, toes, and legs. For this reason, we are looking for homes with kids 10 and older. Running, playing and wrestling with her littermates is her first priority. She also loves exploring around the house and testing out the chew worthiness of many things along the way. Keeping her in a good supply of toys, specifically chew toys, will be beneficial to you and her! She's a real cutie for sure, but she is more than just a pretty face--she is also extremely smart. This is a blessing, but it also means she is looking for a dog-savvy family that can provide the (positive) training, exercise and mental stimulation required for the husky and shepherd breeds. Another dog-friendly dog in the home is a MUST. We do not require fenced yards, but if you have a fence, it should be a minimum of 5ft, preferably 6 ft, as Huskies are natural escape artists. She just got her second set of shots on 8/3/20. Her first voyage outside with paws on the ground will be 8/4/20, so she is just now starting her house training. House training should come easy though, as this litter instinctively chose to consistently go potty in an area separate from their eating and sleeping area, keeping it relatively clean. As part of Tara's $275 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. We also require a $100 spay/neuter deposit on puppies under 4 months of age. If adopted out-of-state or more than 1.5 hours driving distance from Youngsville, NC, she will be spayed prior to leaving, even if younger than 4 months.
