About Gobbie

Adoption Fee: $25
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This is Gobbie, a 4-6 year old dilute tortoiseshell girl. She randomly showed up at our house wounded. I took her to the vet and started feeding her. We realized after a few weeks that she had been declawed on her front paws. For this reason, we brought her inside and we've been working with her for over 6 months to be more acclimated with indoor life. I don't know exactly what her story is, but she obviously had a home at one point where she was declawed. I hope her previous owners didn't throw her out, but obviously that's where she ended up. She has been TNR'd at some point and has an ear tip on one ear. I think they released her because she had developed a tough street life attitude. These days, she has become a very good indoor cat. She has always used the litter box, so she is perfect about that. Since she is front paws declawed (not something I agree with, but it's already done), you won't have to worry about her scratching up furniture or you. Her personality is loyal, a little skittish, and very sweet. She is grateful to be inside and LOVES to have a human to sleep with at night. She sometimes drools when she is being petted and she purrs a lot. She can be very talkative and chirpy. She does NOT like to be picked up. It's really the only thing that she doesn't tolerate. However, she still loves to be near you and will come to you for pets and will climb in your lap or by your side to sleep. She is fearful around other dogs and *most* cats. I think she would do best in an only pet household or with a very laid back cat that won't try to attack her. Since she can be skittish, especially at first and doesn't like to be picked up, I would also recommend no kids or for them to be older children that can be respectful of her. Please message me with any questions about her!
