About

Adoption Fee: $75
Maine Coon / Ragdoll
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Odin O'Brien is a handsome red orange and white long hair male approx. 5yr. His adoption fee is $75. He has been vetted and neutered. He wants to be the only pet to have his people all to himself. He was adopted as a kitten but over the years the family has adopted dogs and had babies. He can't handle the barking or the crying. As hard as it will be, the family has made a selfless decision to get a home he will be happier in. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, especially older kitties, they need an adjustment period. Patience, love and space will be needed for a few days. Some cats will hide temporarily and some cats use the defense mechanism of hissing, it is done out of fear, their way of telling us they are scared, don't take it personally. Odin wants a quiet home to relax in and enjoy life. He is a super affectionate and quirky cat who loves to snuggle and groom his humans. He's also very talkative and will have conversations all day with you. He is great at catching annoying house flies right out of the air while doing some impressive acrobatic stunts. He is very social and a bit needy and doesn't want his new family to be out of the house all day long. He would very sad and lonely. He isn't necessarily a lap cat but he will sit by you real close and touch you. He loves interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. He loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. He will expect to share your bed. He has been free fed quality Science Diet hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of Science Diet in the morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Odin O'Brien FOR LIFE!
