About GRACE

Adoption Fee: $550
Lab mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

GRACE was an owner surrender from a lady that had saved her from a bad situation, she had her a few months, but Grace, who was then called Gypsy was too much and she needed to find her a good home. Her name was changed as we already have a dog called Gypsy at the rescue. GRACE is scheduled for spay surgery, rabies, heartworm tick disease testing on Friday, 7th August and will be available then. She has had her core vaccines, de-wormed and monthly preventatives. She has a date of birth of around 15 December 2019 and is around 45 pounds. Her family stated that Grace is great around children and has been with babies and small child, she lived with a cat, but did chase it and was great with the families small dogs. She is friendly with everyone she has met and has never shown any signs of aggression, although she will bark at strangers. She did do a lot of chewing in the home, which can be due to her age, since she is a pup still and she had seperation anxiety, which is most likely due to coming from an abusive family, she needs to feel safe and so staying with her new mum gave her that feeling of safety. She did go where her mum went and travelled good in the car. She can be a little protective of her food with other dogs, growling if they come near, which is just her letting them know it is her food, again most likely from her history of an abusive background. Grace was brought to the rescue on Saturday, 1st August and so has only been here a few days and she will at times bark, this is obviously due to her not being in a kennel and wanting lots of attention, this is common for dogs that have not been used to the shelter and are missing a home and family. She settles down quickly and enjoys interacting with the dogs in the kennel next to her. She is happy to greet people and will roll over to ensure she gets lots of belly rubs. She is a very sweet girl, who has been through a lot and deserves her forever family and home. Grace is a lab mix and so an active family is a must. A family that understands the importance of training and socializing her with different things and places. All dogs are fed Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor's second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars.
