About Anne

Anne is a good girl. She is a Redtick Coon hound, purebred. We have had her since she was a puppy. Her boys dad got her for him when he was only 12 in hopes of teaching them both to be hunters. Unfortunately her boys dad was killed in an accident so Anne basically became a pet. Anne has never been an inside dog and the reason she needs a home is because she can easily climb the fence and lives a life on a chain. We first installed a invisible fence system before our 4 foot fence and she ran through that as if it wasn't there. Anne's boy is now a young man who can not give her the time she deserves. When she's off the chain she actively seeks to leave the yard to head to the woods. If she gets away she always returns and can be found laying under a bush. We are afraid she will get hit or cause an accident. She needs a home where she can be worked with and taught her boundaries or perhaps a big farm to roam. She is a hunter by nature so she may not do well with chickens or small animals. She does have sister and brother dogs now who she gets along with well. She has been spayed and is very healthy. We are not in a hurry to find a home, we want to find the right home, a forever home.
