About Archie Longfellow

Update: Archie is currently pending but it looks like they might drop out so if I don't hear anything today I will pick up where I left off in my email list. Due to his high demand I am receiving more emails than I can keep up with so as of right now I am NOT TAKING ANY MORE INQUIRIES AT THIS TIME. At least until I can catch up and respond to every one. My ideal home for Archie is a family with another dog that he can have a buddy and/or kids. He LOVES kids. Ideally the parents would work from even after Covid restrictions are lifted or that he is alone as little as possible. I feel his anxiety will improve under these conditions. I would also like potential adopters to be within an hour or so of Richmond so that I can check up on him and visit him from time to time. Thank you for your patience during this difficult time, I want to make sure he is in the best home possible where he will thrive. Archie aka Archie Longfellow is a 1 year old (DOB 6/24/19) miniature dachshund who is a very sweet tempered dog that is great with adults and kids as well as non-aggressive dogs, he just likes to jump and sniff a lot. He is smart, playful and inquisitive, loves to cuddle and follow you wherever you go. He is house broken as long as you have a bell on the door, he very rarely has accidents however, he does have mild-medium separation anxiety so sometimes he goes in the crate, he is not aggressive at all though. Knows basic command such as: sit, wait, spin, leave it, drop it, down (on carpet only). Through no fault of his own I regretfully need to rehome him due to personal health issues. I simply cannot give him the help and attention he needs, which is lots of love and patience to help him work through his anxiety and a loving home and family. I don't work and am at home all the time so he's not used to being alone for very long.
