About Tootsie

Tootsie is a pretty 9 year old, 16 pound dachshund -chihuahua cross who is looking for her forever home. Tootsie is a loving girl who likes to cuddle with her foster mom in Florida. Tootsie likes to be on the sofa with her foster mom and loves to sleep in the big bed too! She would love a home where she could have big bed privileges. Tootsie is very easy going with people and would do well in a home with children over the age of 12. Tootsie does need to be an ONLY pet. She doesn't like being around other animals. Tootsie is an alpha and knows what she likes, and what she likes is people! Tootsie is well house trained and crate trained. She is so well crate trained she will run into her crate when she is directed 'Go Crate'. She adapted quickly to her foster home and will go to the door and ask to go outside to 'go'. Like all dachshunds she will need to be confident in her environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Tootsie loves to eat and her foster mom is working with her to help her loose a few pounds. Tootsie's forever home will need to monitor her food intake and help her continue on her weight loss journey. Tootsie is leash trained and loves to be with her person. She would love a home with time to spend with her and she enjoys playing. She is a super loving girl and will make a wonderful companion.
