Diesel is a 2.5 year old (birthday Feb. 2018) pit mix. He is about 70lbs. He is very sweet, but very nervous. He loves to play, but also loves to nap and snuggle. Diesel is nervous around new people, but does best with women. With time and patience, he would eventually be comfortable around men. (It has taken some male friends 1-2 days before Diesel would let them pet him, but others only 30 minutes.) He is VERY uncomfortable around children, and gets nervous with loud noises. Diesel can NOT go to a home with children! He walks great on a leash, he rarely if ever pulls, and he ignores most other dogs/people on walks, but he likes to spend most of his time indoors. He doesn't jump when you come in the house. Diesel has separation anxiety, so when he is left alone he tends to howl, which can be an issue if you live in an apartment or townhome. He is crate trained when left alone, however I haven't been able to leave him by himself the past 3-4 months since I live in a townhome and he howls. He does okay with with most other dogs, typically he does better with dogs that are smaller than him. He doesn't mind cats, but sometimes chases them or tries to play and doesn't realize how much bigger he is. He would do best around a 'dog-savvy' cat. He is VERY food and toy motivated. He loves treats and toys that he can shake and flail around. He is very smart and catches onto new tricks quickly. He knows sit, paw/shake, lay down, and spin. He is not neutered.
