About Jack/Maxx

Introducing Jack and Maxx! They are an adorable pair of the sweetest bonded Shih Tzu brothers! Jack and Maxx will be 10 years old in August, even though they don't act or look it. Jack weighs 16.8 pounds and Maxx weighs 16.2. They look so much alike it's hard to tell them apart, except for one sure sign. Jack has a front foot that turns out. We don't know what happened to him, but it doesn't bother him at all. Their prior owner had them their whole lives but she is dealing with some medical issues and just isn't able to take care of them anymore so she gave them to us. Jack and Maxx are very friendly, easy-going dogs. They are fine with other dogs and good with all people. They really love to be in laps or near their person. They have not been cat tested and we think they would be ok with older kids, but due to their age and the activity level of young kids, we do not recommend a home with younger children. These boys are very laid-back and like to lounge, preferably on a lap. If not they will happily lie at their owner's feet! Jack and Maxx are very bonded to each other. Where one is the other is sure to be too. They have been together their whole lives and we will not be separating them. They stick closely together, and are very affectionate with their person, seeking pets and cuddles. They seem to be housebroken, but may mark in a new home. They know how to use a doggy door and are very good about taking themselves out to potty. They do walk on a leash, but their new home should have a fenced in yard. Jack and Maxx will sleep together in a doggy bed or in the big bed by their owner. They are both neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. They still need dentals, which are covered by the rescue. This amazing pair of Shih Tzu's will be the best companions for some very lucky family.
