Intake Type: (7/3) Owner Surrender Videos: Brutus in kennel: https://youtu.be/WvPUntErsi4 Behavior Observation: (7/18) Eval -- Very scared to leave kennel. Curled up on bed, and was able to loop but showed whale eye and trembled. Once leashed, needed lots of encouragement to step out. Walks well on leash. Appears to come close to getting a little over-stimulated, so kept tag game short and the rest of the encounter relaxed. LOVES tennis balls. Will play fetch by dropping a ball when the handler throws a different ball, then handler can pick up dropped ball to keep game going. (7/18) During handling outside in yard, initially was very tense. Would flinch with sudden touches. Eventually did become more loose and relaxed, then solicited attention. (7/16) Appears nervous but social in kennel. Crouches while coming forward but when leash is moved closer, dog then retreats to bed and begins shaking. (7/3) Per Owner -- protective, active, sensitive, calm, eager to please, playful, good with people overall, aggression to strangers, only triggered by yelling/raised voices and other loud noises, only when the dog is triggered by yelling or other loud noises, overall great with children, animals, all people, fine on leash, sit, stay, lay down, go out. On 7-2-20, the owner was yelling at the dog to go outside. The owner stomped his foot to get the dog's attention, causing the dog to become startled and to snap and bite the man's forearm. It was a level 3 bite, no medical attention seeked. The owner says his aggression is ONLY triggered by loud noises, which would explain why he bit only after the owner raised his voice and stomped his foot. The owner says the dog has bit him only one other time before, in the exact same scenario. The dog is incredibly well behaved otherwise, and is even great with children and other dogs. The dog was so playful and affectionate to staff (myself included) and clients in the lobby, so the owner was not lying when he said it is strictly because of loud noises. The owner was vert torn up about having to surrender, but said he can't stop the construction and loud noises happening next to his house all the time. He will be looking into training resources, and may possibly come to reclaim if the dog is still here. %9D%A4%8F%9D%A4%8F%9D%A4%8F
