She came from an owner surrender situation where the family was unable to provide quality care for her. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered (a voucher is provided if not old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. For young puppies unaltered, the adoption fee is $300 and $125 is returned once proof of spay/neuter (Voucher provided if local). Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. Unfortunately many are hesitant to pay the minimal adoption fee when dogs can be found free anywhere. What they aren't prepared for is the vetting expense required and then the animals are not fixed and the reproduction surplus continues. Sponsoring a dog's adoption fee allows us to find them a home after being fully vetted, continue intaking and vetting, and continue baby steps towards 'fixing companion animal overpopulation'.
