About Maggie Jean

Pretty Maggie Jean is a 2 year old, 8-10 pound pretty Chihuahua mix. Maggie came to us as an owner surrender due to multiple family dynamics, but through no fault of her own. She has lived her whole life with one family, not getting a lot of attention, and is still adjusting to the change in her life. She was very scared when she came in, but has slowly started to get comfortable. Whoever adopts her will have to understand that it will take her time to adjust to a new place and a new person. Once she is comfortable she will bond so hard to her new person! Her foster mom took her on a 'play date' recently with another one of our foster families to see how she would adapt if she was left in a new home. As we anticipated she was initially afraid and looking for her Foster mom, but it didn't take too long before she was allowing the other family to pet her. Whoever adopts her will just need to be able to give her some time to adjust to them and she will be the most loving dog from that point on. From what we were told she has had very limited exposure to different things. Even though she is a sweet girl, she is a timid one in new situations. She does not like swift movements and crouches down when approached. She doesn't stray too far from her foster mom and sleeps with her in the big bed at night. Maggie Jean is a playful pup at heart! She gets along well with other dogs and plays with toys. Her prior home had both a younger and an older kid in it but based on what we have observed a home with younger kids is not a good idea. We would only feel comfortable with her around a dog savvy teen. She has not been around cats that we are aware of either. She is housebroken, knows how to use a doggy door, and a fenced yard is required. Maggie Jean is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay is scheduled soon and is covered by the rescue. Maggie Jean will be a very loving and loyal companion for the right person willing to give her some time to figure out her new home!
