About Spanky

Spanky came to rescue after being found by AC tied to a pole. Poor Spanky was a mess, missing hair, fleas, irritated skin and what looked to be a nasty paw injury. Thankfully, Spanky was HW negative and neutered already, and two vets have estimated him at 8 years old. He is now up to date on his vaccines, and on Monday prevention. He also had a double ear infection which he has been treated for, and is on some anti-inflammatory and pain medication. After radiographs were performed it was found that Spanky had several old injuries. His neck was injured and was still a bit stiff, he had a leg break that healed on its own, and the paw injury which seems to be a ruptured tendon that he simply needs to learn how to use again. We have been focusing on therapy and activities where he needs to use the paw in order to strengthen it. He has 'learned' how to run with the injury either way. Spanky is also adverse to bathing so we are going a low and steady so as not to freak him out. Through ALL of his trauma, Spanky has never lost his light. He is sweet and vibrant and loving. He is happy and wild and playful. Spanky will snuggle in the crook of your arm every night. He appears to be houae trained and he uses pee pads while his foster mommy is at work. Otherwise he has a doggie door when she is at home. Spanky is so very sassy and is looking for his forever cuddle buddy.
