Dear Philpott, How happy we are to have saved you! Your face is scared and your belly was empty but your heart is that of gold! Philpott is an older (maybe about 8 years old) Treeing Walker Coonhound who came into a shelter as a stray and was never claimed. He was most likely a hunting dog as his face and ears bear the scars of a warrior! Philpott is so thankful to be able to eat and lay in the shade of the backyard. He is great with other dogs and has two really purdy hound girls to keep him company in his foser home. Philpott goes in his crate every night to get a cookie and sleeps quietly until morning. He is a kind, happy, beautiful soul who is always really excited about eating! We adore Philpott and hope we can find an adopter who will too! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA. ) A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
