About Samson

Who says you have to be a dane to be a velcro dog? Because I am too! My name is Samson and I am the sweetest 55 lbs of love you ever did meet! I was pulled from a shelter in Florida about 8 months ago and I have come such a long way. I am COMPLETELY house trained and crate trained and non-destructive when left alone. I am a BALL of energy until I crash for a nap! I love my toys and I love other dogs. I would love to have a furry playmate, but I am also happy being an only dog. I can be shy when we first meet but a few treats and you have a friend for life. I am also great with little people as well after a slow introduction. According to the shelter, I've spent most of my life chained up in a yard with other dogs. I even had an embedded collar that had to be surgically removed. And yet I still love humans! My foster mom says I am so smart and so easy to train that I am a dream to be around! I now know that I need to sit and be calm for you to give me lovies. I am such a gentlemen when it comes to eating treats. I am very gentle when accepting food from your hand and I have NO food aggression. I need some work on the leash since I am so excited to go with you that I pull sometimes, but I am working on this. I used to get anxious in the car, but now I have learned it is not scary to go with you. I am great watch dog since I will always let you know when someone is at the door. I also know sit and am completely trained to sit and wait before foster mom puts the food bowl down to release me. I am so patient! I am SUCH A QUICK LEARNER AND SO EASY TO TRAIN!! My foster mama says I am the easiest foster she has ever had. Foster mom isn't sure how I am with cats because I have not been around any, but I LOVE my foster dog sibling. I would do best with a yard where I can run and play to use up my energy. However, I'm also a total cuddle bug at the end of the day. I am located in Birmingham Alabama, but some transport can be arranged to meet you! Please give me a chance! I would love to meet you and I am the sweetest little boy with so much love to give. I am happy all the time! My tail basically never stops wagging except when I sleep. I would be an amazing companion for you!
