My foster mom said I must have had another name at one time. I can't remember my previous family or what they called me because I was out on my own for a long time. These days, I go by the name 'Nightrider.' I did come and go in the night searching for food and anyone to care for me. I kept showing up at a local tavern, but the people there didn't want to be bothered with me. They gave me an occasional hotdog, but that's it. One day, a nice lady with Purr Partners took mercy on me and took me in. I was so skinny and hungry. I also had ticks and a terrible case of ear mites. I tested positive for FIV* which is a virus that is transmitted mostly by deep bites from male cats fighting. I don't want to fight! Even though I have FIV, I can live a very normal life. I have a steady source of food right now, and I am very personable and friendly with my foster mom. I came in looking very rough, but I am starting to look and feel better. I don't know if you can tell, but I am a big boy with a large head! Once my long black hair is shiny and healthy, my foster mom promises I will be gorgeous. I've had a rough life, but I am hoping the next chapter will bring better times for me. Please consider giving me a home. Surely my luck is about to change! *FIV is not contagious to other cats except through deep puncture wounds like those caused in fights between two un-neutered males. FIV is not transmitted by using the same food and water bowls, litter boxes, or toys, and many of us have FIV cats happily living with non-FIV cats in our own homes. FIV positive cats, with good vet care, such as you'd give to any cat, can live a normal life span.
