PLEASE READ: Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable dogs! All dogs listed are still available. If interested, please complete our no obligation application. This can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Select the Applications tab, then Adoption Application. THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS. It can take up to a week to process an application. We are an all-volunteer rescue so please be patient. Our adoption area is limited to a 4 hour radius of Indianapolis. We try our best to provide all information in our bios. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask during the interview process. Some of our dogs have special requirements such as needs another dog in the home or requires a physical and permanent fenced yard. These requirements are not negotiable. Unless otherwise noted, we do not cat test our adoptable dogs. We also require that all pets in your household be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative. E-MAILS: We do not respond to e-mail inquiries without an application. We regret that we cannot respond to every e-mail unless you fill out an application. All the dogs we offer for adoption have been spayed/neutered, wormed and microchipped, are up-to-date on immunizations, have been tested for heartworm and are currently receiving a monthly preventative. If the dog had additional medical issues, those have also been addressed. Visit our website www.waldosmuttleycrew.org for more information and to complete an application. She's our miracle girl!!!! 10 year old german shepherd/lab, Lottie, came to us in rough shape. She'd lived on a chain and experienced neglect her whole life. Despite her years of loneliness, Lottie is one of the most loving & affectionate dogs you'll hever meet. She melts every time she is touched and the smile on her face, coinciding with her wagging tail, thaws even the coldest heart. Lottie had a massive load of heartworms when we got her; if we didn't treat the disease, her prognosis was perhaps 6 months to live. But because of the number of worms, treatment was very dangerous & risky. We decided we needed to give this sweetheart a chance and she has successfully completed the 4 month regimen of treatment with flying colors. Surprisingly she's had no ill effects (such as difficulty breathing or coughing) and is perky & bright eyed and ready for her forever home!!! Lottie loves all people and is ever so gentle. Although not aggressive with other dogs, her solitary life on a chain makes her uncomfortable with them. She doesn't lunge or bark at other dogs but gets anxious with prolonged contact. For this reason, Lottie would prefer to be an 'only child'. We also do not recommend she go to a home with cats as she does have some prey drive. Lottie does have limited tear production in her right eye so will need daily medication to keep it lubricated but she easily accepts the ointment without .. shall we say ... batting an eye! She's truly a gem who will bring whoever adopts her so much happiness. She still has a spring in her step and very much enjoys walks & car rides ... especially when she gets to get a McD hamburger en route! Let us know if you'd like to make this precious girl part of your family! You won't regret it! Lottie's adoption fee is $125; she's spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations.
