About Donghae

We're a non-profit dog rescue in New York City and South Korea. We rescue dogs from dog meat farms, high kill shelters, strays, and puppy mills in South Korea and bring them over to New York City. Donghae is a Jindo Mix who was used as a guard dog, tied up outside a factory in Korea for the early years of his life. The owner decided he was too friendly to be a guard dog so he dumped him at a high kill shelter in Yongin, Korea. He is 3 years old and has a lot of love to give! He's headed to a board and train program with our wonderful trainers and partners at Lead Your K9 in Orwigsburg, PA. That means Donghae will be available for adoption in the Lehigh Valley area and we are officially opening adoptions on a case-by-case basis in that area and Philadelphia as well. �%A0'� Donghae has come such a long way with his rehabilitation and training. He's gained confidence with us, listens well to directions and really works hard at being the best he can be every day! He is truly a happy, relaxed, and loveable Jindo mix in a polar bear's body. With a derpy smile that lights up the room when he sees you, to his nuzzles when he's near you - he truly exemplifies a Jindo's loyalty and pure heart. �%A0'� �%A0'� However, we know Donghae needs more help and a better environment to blossom. We think he would thrive in less of an urban environment and Lead Your K9 has accepted him into their amazing six-week board and train program to help him become even better, beyond what we at KK9R can give him. We are investing in him to truly find his adopter and human for life with their help! �%A0'� �%A0'� We're looking for a family that would give him his structure every day, plenty of exercise, and willing to learn from the trainers exactly what he needs to thrive and live happily. He would also need to be the only pet in the household. The training is paid for by us, but a committed adopter is what we are looking for in return.
