Thank You for your cooperation*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay, PayPal, or cash. Charlie was brought into a high kill shelter in CA as a stray. Charlie's listing pictures were horrific, his nose had been eaten away, he was filthy and matted with an upper respiratory infection and had obviously been neglected for a long time. When his fur was shaved down a mass hanging down from his throat was discovered. No one was coming to get Charlie and he was placed on the euthanasia list. We knew we needed to help him & give him a better life. Charlie needed multiple surgeries over a course of several months. First he needed to be brought back to health as Charlie was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease, ischemic dermatitis/vasculitis. After blood tests, biopsies on his nose, throat, rectum, skin scrapings you name it he was ready for his surgeries 1 at a time. We located a specialist to remove the mass dangling from his neck and an additional mass located on his rectum which was in a dangerous area, requiring an umbilical hernia surgery. As if that wasn't enough Charlie has what is called a soft heart murmur which is a grade 1 out of 6 heart murmur. Thankfully all of the pathology reports came back negative for cancer. Charlie will need to be on life long meds for his autoimmune disease which are Pentoxifylline & cyclosporine. Charlie is a smart, playful, and loves attention. He especially loves women and is a little slower to warm up to men. He loves to go for walks and is learning to walk on leash and harness. He is super affectionate and lives to please his human. He has not been around young children or cats to our knowledge. It is always up to the new family to be responsible with introducing new pets and in all interactions with pets and children. As with all rescue pups, he will need some work with potty training and general obedience. Charlie is about 5 years old years old and weighs aprox.18 lbs. Based on his appearance we believe he is possibly a Bichon mix. In addition to his multiple surgeries, he has been neutered, received a major dental, and is current on all vaccines including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, and rabies. Charlie is microchipped and has been wormed. This sweet boy has been through so much and is depending on us to find him the best forever home possible. With that in mind we are looking for a home where someone is home majority of the day and won't leave him alone or crated all day. Charlie will need to be on a high quality diet and regular meds to keep his autoimmune condition under control. He needs a home that is able to be patient with the transition, willing to work with a trainer if necessary, and able to give him unconditional love. Please only submit an application if you are ready to adopt now and willing to go through our process. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet. Once we find the right home for each pup we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people who are not ready to commit. Please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately not able to respond to everyone. We appreciate your understanding. Charlie has an adoption fee of $875.
