About Hummer

Hummer is the best dog and I have had him since he was six weeks old so putting him up for adoption is very hard. He loves to play frisbee, and knows sit, lay down, stay (sometimes) and come. He is a Velcro dog and likes to be wherever you are. He enjoys hikes and going to the beach. He has hip dysplasia but it isn't bothering him too much right now(he might have a bad day every once in a while) and seems to be doing quite well overall health wise. He is potty trained as behaves well in the house when we are gone (he doesn't like to be crated).He gets along fine with Cats and other dogs (usually) but prefers not to live with other dogs. The reason I am rehoming him is Over the past couple years he has developed a dislike for kids and he finally snapped. My daughters friend was over and she tried to hug him and he snapped at her and got her in the face. (This is the first time he has ever done more than growl). I have 2 young kids and we visit my siblings quite frequently and they also have very young kids and he can't be trusted with them anymore. So as heartbreaking as this is for me I think he would be happier in a home with no kids under 12.
