About MaxBear

Max Bear is my love and my project. He has come SO far! He will need a very experienced and dedicated shepherd owner or trainer/behavioralist to keep/work with him. I had intended (with all my heart) to keep this lovely boy, but due to loss of wages in the house and loss of an experienced caretaker when I am at work - I am unable to continue with Max. Where else can you get such a beautiful and intelligent working boy at this small fee to ensure a decent home? Max walks like a champ using fuss, wait, halt, slow, and fast. He knows stay, and is able to leave it with food in hand of BONDED person and take it on command, He can do 'push ups' exercise sit, plots, sit, plots in rapid succession for an encouraging human companion and has a good stay. Crate trained, treat when door is closed and he is in, happy voice after exercise - he is happy to go in and rest - but only needs crate when you are dealing with food and sometimes at night if he prefers. Somebody please take and finish with my boy (we are able to sit in same room non threatening posture in regard to meals but he does have a real issue over meals, dropped food, etc. even though he can be treated with other dogs trained with treats With Bonded person(s), etc. He is currently very food aggressive and will bite over food as described! I believe this came from being in kennel, food put in, and person leaving when young - he is very protective aggressive over a presence at meals and in regard to food dropped on floor with people - dogs he seems pretty O.K. - But I would still feed Separate (not in crate but his own room). Extreme caution needs to be used around food and meals. We were working on his comfort with people moving Closer slowly day after day. Got to about the length of a small room in a non attentive/threatening stance. His issue will take dedication. Again, must have very experienced Shepherd person/trainer owner//or willing to hire a behavioralist right away. For a person willing to be dedicated and work closely with Max This is a dog with great potential. Max is a risk - but can make a remarkable dog for the right person.
