About Ruby

Hi I'm Ruby! My foster momma calls me Momma Ruby Lou because when she found me, I was very pregnant. She caught me just in time because just 5 days later I had 4 big babies! All of my kids have been adopted and I'm done with mommy duty. Foster mom says it's my turn to find a forever home of my own. I'm a little nervous about it because I didn't interact with a lot of humans while I was on the streets. I hope my new forever family will be patient with me and give me time to adjust and get comfortable. Treats are the key to my heart and I will get used to you in a couple days. Once I'm comfortable I'm a sweetheart! I really like other dogs and they help me feel comfortable. Foster mom says I need confidence, whatever that is. If you have another dog I would be the perfect playmate! My foster mom thinks I'm about 2 yrs old and based on my baby's dna test I am a Beagle/Heeler mix. I weigh 28lbs but I'm not very tall. They call me a low-rider! I had a home before because I can sit and I am potty trained. Ruby is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $150.00. An adoption application, home visit and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. Ruby is positive for anaplasmosis which is a tick disease. She has not shown any symptoms and we did a precautionary round of treatment just to be safe. The test is an antibodies test and she could test positive for the rest of her life with no symptoms. She received a clean bill of health from the vet. Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
