About Bayard Rustin & Pauli

This can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Select the Applications tab, then Adoption Application. THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS. It can take up to a week to process an application. We are an all-volunteer rescue so please be patient. Our adoption area is limited to a 4 hour radius of Indianapolis. We try our best to provide all information in our bios. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask during the interview process. Some of our dogs have special requirements such as needs another dog in the home or requires a physical and permanent fenced yard. These requirements are not negotiable. Unless otherwise noted, we do not cat test our adoptable dogs. We also require that all pets in your household be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative. E-MAILS: We do not respond to e-mail inquiries without an application. We regret that we cannot respond to every e-mail unless you fill out an application. All the dogs we offer for adoption have been spayed/neutered, wormed and microchipped, are up-to-date on immunizations, have been tested for heartworm and are currently receiving a monthly preventative. If you want lots of tail wagging & kisses ... playing & snuggling ... you can stop looking! Our bonded pair of siblings, Pauli Murray & Bayard Rustin (we are on a civil rights activist theme), are simply wonderful! They are 10 month old dachshund/border collie mixes; they are smaller than they look in their pictures - weighing about 22 lbs each. Pauli is the lovely black & white girl. She's very outgoing & social with people & dogs. Rustin is the handsome red boy; he's a little more timid than his sister but, by following her lead, quickly warms up and is ready to wrestle or get ear scratches. This precious pair were confiscated along with 51 other dogs during a raid on a drug house. Thankfully, other than being a bit thin and having missing hair & skin infections from chronic flea infestation, they are in good shape. Pauli & Rustin very much want attention; both are cuddle bugs. But they also enjoy racing around the yard so they will require a fenced in yard in their new home. If you are interested in adopting these two together, please let us know! We will not separate them As they need each other. The adoption fee for both is $350; they are fixed, microchipped, current on vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm/flea preventative.
