About Gunner

Adoption Fee: $350
Anatolian Shepherd / Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Who ever adopts this dog will love his crazy antics and his humor. Since he can be such a character he may try your patience....he's a very funny dog. Gunner is a beautiful 1.5 year old Anatolian Shepherd and Australian Shepherd mix. Since he loves the water so much we think there may also be Lab in him. There might even be a little Husky in him. He weighs approximately 85lbs. Gunner is a clown hound, a ham and still has puppy like behavior. He loves to play and run. If you are a runner/jogger and want to burn off calories, Gunner would be more than happy to accommodate you. He loves the water. Gunner came to us as an unruly, misbehaving teenager. He is now learning there are rules in this life! He's very smart and is learning quickly. He's in the process of learning manners. He has learned to 'go to your bed, sit and wait before eating food, the sit command and get in your kennel.' His recall is improving every day. Gunner will need an experienced owner and someone with lots of patience. He sometimes has the naughty behavior of mouthing when he wants to play or get your attention. Correcting and not allowing that behavior is part of his training program. We are still working on social introduction manners of meeting new people. When he realizes you are going to be his leader and best buddy he will be YOUR best buddy. He really likes to please, and he knows to do something to earn a treat. He's smart. At this time, he can NOT go to a home with young/little children. They were mean to him in the previous home and he does not trust them. Gunner is dog friendly with proper introduction, house broken, crate trained and travels very well in the car....he will drive if you let him. He loves to play with toys. He loves to chase the toy/ball but doesn't always bring it back. He needs room to run. He still needs work on the leash. He is a work in progress and will need someone to continue his training. He is a wonderful dog and is gaining more confidence. He's come a long way since first coming into rescue. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. If you are a strong leader and can give Gunner a loving, forever home, please fill out our adoption application at www.secondchancedogs.net. His adoption donation is $350
