About Claire

Claire is a 14 month old Corgi Beagle Mix puppy who weighs about 25lbs. She was part of a litter of 5 puppies. I have mom who is Beagle, Corgi mix and who was bred with a pure bred corgi male. Claire has a naturally docked tail Like dad, short stubby legs and corgi booty & walk. Her ears are floppy like mom though. Claire had a promised home in Ohio, and due to no fault of her own, the owner was unable to take her any longer. So I found her another home at 9 months of age, and that home was not a good fit for her because they had younger children and Claire gets too anxious around younger kids. So Claire was returned to us and I have been trying to find her another forever home, but her circumstances are a bit special and I want to make sure when she finds her next home; it is indeed forever and a perfect fit! Claire is extremely loyal to her master and will groom and love you forever. But she would do best in a home where she is with a retired couple or a family with much older children as she gets anxious with kids running and playing loudly, and has been known to jump up and nip in these situations. She also barks when she is very anxious. Claire loves attention and belly rubs and being the dominant dog if there is another dog in the home. She does take some time to warm up to other pets, and she is very attached to her brother who she loves to play with all day. Claire is up to date on her shots, has been vetted since birth, but has not been spayed yet because our vet hasn't done them during the pandemic. She isn't the greatest on a leash but could easily learn. She likes to chew on her harness so she's gone through a few already. She is crate trained and sleeps in a crate at night, although she would be fine to sleep with her owner if that is your preference; though she may still have an occasional accident. She is used to running outside in the fenced yard when going potty and playing, but is an inside dog. She can be pretty stubborn when she doesn't want to do something. If she doesn't want to get up from a nap or to go to bed, she will ignore you and then roll over when you try to get her to go outside. But other times, shes'll do what you ask. It's just her personality which can be funny at times and make me laugh, but also annoying when I have to pick her up like a baby and drag her outside. She really just needs a patient owner who will work with her. She would not do well in an apartment or left alone all day, as she does love attention and would probably bark from being lonely. Claire does have a lot of great qualities though as well! I just wanted to be very upfront and honest about some of her problem areas.
