Scottie. Looking for a new home for this border Collie/Australian Shepard mix - age 5. He has been well cared for and overall is a great dog. He does have anxiety which has gotten him into trouble and caused him to bite. He has done this 5 times in his life-time. The bites were not malicious, he did them when he was being removed from a place he thought was 'his' territory or when he thought you were taking his food. No stitches were ever required but with younger children coming in and out of our home, we can no longer have this behavior around them. We noticed his anxiety increased when our other dog passed away 2 years ago, maybe some separation anxiety that has gotten worse. He also gets anxious with loud noises such as thunder. Scottie is affectionate, smart, loves to take walks, loves playing frisbee. He has all his shots, has been on heart worm pills, has been groomed on a regular basis. He needs a home that is in a quiet rural setting, perhaps a one or two adult home. He has the herding instinct of a collie as he often herded my grandson inside when needed, lol. So he would be great on a farm. Please pass this on to anyone you think may want a loving dog and who has time to re-train him. He had a wonderful life here with us his first 5 years so hoping someone can offer that to him for his next chapter in life. If you have any questions please reach out to me at [email protected].
