About Toby

Toby is a 1 year old akita mix who went through such disappointment in the beginning of his life. He was an inside pup with a best bud who was a pomeranian, then as he grew his family decided that he was best left in a crate, so he stayed in the crate 24/7 except to potty. When he expressed his disappointment that his buddy was still out and he wanted to play he was demoted yet again to an outside chain around a tree with a turned over trashcan as a shelter. The neighbor noticed this and threatened to call Animal control so the owners promptly told her that they didn't want him any longer. The neighbor took Toby immediately and asked us to please take him into our rescue. And that was the beginning of Toby's brand new life. Such an awesome boy, he has a lot of energy and really needs a buddy who can keep him in check but not start a fight. If he is going to have a buddy that is. He does well with other dogs but he has so much energy that they get tired of playing quickly. He does well inside, and he is a couch potato when you want him to be. But he loves to play also and loves the water and Toby would make a great hiking buddy. This boy is just the best boy. He loves everyone and just wants to please you. He is smart and learns quickly.
