About Kody

This stunning blue boy is Kody, a 5 year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix who weighs about 75 pounds. Kody is loved, but recent events mean that he needs to find a new home. Kody is a smart boy. He knows his commands (see the YouTube video). He also knows some tricks. He is house and crate trained. Kody is a typical herder in that he is nice with most folks but isn't the kind of dog who likes to meet lots of people at once. He isn't a dog who wants to go to a restaurant with his people. He also isn't a fit for a home with kids under high school age. Kody is also nice with most dogs but can bark at others when he gets nervous. He likes to have playmates. Cats? If they run he chases. A dog savvy cat may do just fine with him. Kody is a fun, adventure type of guy. He loves to fetch. He is good on leash and in a car. He is also good with livestock: goats, sheep, and horses. He has even done some light herding and shows plenty of instinct. He would appreciate a home that takes him places. He also prefers a home where he is with his people more often than not. He is a shadow-type dog, loving to follow his person all around. Being with his person and doing what you are doing is his favorite thing. Kody is a funny guy, too. He gets excited when dogs are on tv! He also barks and talks like Scooby Doo when he gets anxious. Kody's perfect home is a home that knows how to keep him busy and spends lot of time with him. Ideally he would not live in a busy neighborhood, but in a quieter place. Kody is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
