About Poppy

Rottweiler mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Hi, my name is Poppy. I am the sweetest dog ever! Everyone says so. My foster mom says it all the time but who would believe her anyway, she is absolutely biased. Her friend calls me Poppy the Floppy Rottweiler cause I'm a bit uncoordinated. I won't grow out of it, but I think it adds to my charm. Stairs and other obstacles are hard for me. I am learning though and if you give me time to figure it out on my own, I will. I can't be bribed by treats when you're trying to teach me something. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE treats and meal time and snack time and eating at any point. Affection though, that's my weakness. I will do almost anything to be called a good girl and get my belly rubbed. I am almost potty trained. I think I am, but my foster mom keeps finding puddles in the house. I am sure I am being framed by my foster brother grumpy. I like to be around other dogs. They teach me things and I follow them to learn but I haven't figured out how to play with them yet. Unless it's, tug of war. That is such a fun game! I also can't figure out why the other dogs bark and lunge at the window when the mailman comes. I normally just go hide behind my foster mom. She laughs and says I will always need protection cause I won't do it for myself. I am pretty sure that being absolutely non aggressive is a good thing. Even when the big boys try to eat my dinner before I'm done, mom has to shoo them away cause I will let them. Sharing is caring Right? I went to see a man called a Vet. Stupid name for a human, but he was nice and X-Rayed me and says I am completely healthy. I may get to be 65LBs but not much bigger than that. I have something called a Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It means that my cerebellum is not really developed. It is the reason why I hate being picked up, Vertigo, can't keep my balance and the whole coordination issue. Fancy words for I am unique, and again charming. I can lead a normal life but I won't be running any marathons soon. I am hoping you can love me just as I am. I will certainly love you as you are. Note: Poppy is dependent on her foster brothers for guidance and reassurance. We have determined that Poppy will need to be adopted to a home with another dog(s) that she can look towards for guidance and reassurance. She will not do well as a single dog.
