About Maxxius (west)

Hi, my name is MAXXIUS ID#A4435684. I am a neutered male, blue and white American Bulldog. The shelter staff think I am about 6 years old, and I have been at the shelter since June 27, 2020. We don't have much information about Maxxius, except that we know he likes people, but other dogs not so much. Surely, he could receive some training to help him with this before he is euthanized. Here are the only notes we have about Maxxius: 6/27/2020 OBSERVATION Timid at first but warmed up, friendly and allowed me to handle him, pick him up and scan for chip. 6/27/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT K9 allowed vaccines with light restraint. K9 was affiliative with staff. K9 walked to kennel but pulled on leash. 6/30/2020 EVALUATION Pulled hard on leash to yard; energetic during collar placement. Entered yard stiff with pilo-erection. Greeted in stiff manner and would not soften; unable to release into yard. Barking and jumping up in the kennel. Pulled some on the leash; jumped up on handler for attention. Quick entrance; stiff and dominant while greeting. Quick to escalate; charged growled and made contact with dogs fur that attempted to greet him. Minimally responsive to the yard lead and maintained focus on the other dogs. Level 3 due to dog interactions. Please save this handsome man before it is too late.
