About Copper

Our hearts are extremely broken...but we have come to the realization that we need to rehome our 6 year old red tricolor Australian shepherd. He is beautiful and has two different colored eyes. We love copper so very very much, but he has become aggressive has has now bit 4 people in the last 4 years. With the last 3 within the last 2 years. He is the smartest dog we have ever seen. He is neutered. And fully house trained and spends most of his time inside. He knows directional commands and well as the typical sit, stay, lay down as well as play dead. The first two bites we were certain it was nipping instinct because he nipped the people's back leg while they were running. However the last two instances were more actual bites that broke skin and were without warning. We have small kids and have already lived our lives with keeping them separate. And then we learned he would possibly bite company so then we made sure to put him up before answering the door or having guests over. And then this last bite, he broke through our fence and bit our neighbor. We are just at such a loss and know he's become to unpredictable for our neighborhood and our children. We love him and know he is a good boy. Please give him a chance. Not good for a home with kids and will need someone to love him and be patient. Maybe a ranch or farm.
