About Serena

ADOPTION PENDING 1 year old female Doxie (?) mix, about 25 pounds. Serena is at my best guess a Beagle/dachshund mix or maybe corgi mix. She is really sweet and a cuddle bug. She loves to play but she is also very good hanging out in the house. We have 3 dogs of our own, a lab/great Dane mix, a lab/border mix and a jack/chihuahua mix. She does well with all of them. Once in awhile she can be a bit possessive (only growls, no aggression) with a bone with the other dogs but not with me or my teenage daughter. She is pretty good on the leash already and will improve with regular walks. She is good about taking care of her business when we go outside but she will sneak off in a corner and relieve herself if we are not watching so not 100% reliable. We have had only one instance of her chewing something inappropriate but that was right after she came to us and I think stress induced. She is good with her crate. She goes in at night and when we are away. I haven't noticed any separation anxiety. She does bark once in awhile but we are out in the country so often hear the coyotes singing and neighbor dogs barking. She likes to chase the cats if she has the opportunity but is not aggressive. It has improved and I think with time will go away. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
