About Mama G

Well hello, Dog Seekers this is Mama G. Mama here has a sad story to tell. She lived out in the middle of the Navajo Reservation where she was being fed by a nice family in Many Farms, AZ. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, unfortunately all the members of the household caught the virus and sadly passed away leaving Mama here pregnant and roaming around with a pup from a previous litter. Mama soon gave birth to nine pups and was brought in to rescue to raise them in safety. She was a great Mama, but the rescue quickly learned that Mama was extremely uncomfortable around humans. She was never aggressive--just extraordinarily shy. She weaned her pups, learned to walk on a leash and live in a home and was adopted out---sadly 9 months later she was returned because the adopter did not have the means to work with her on her shyness and her leash reactivity around other dogs. Mama G is 2-3 years old and seems to have some shepherd (maybe dutch shepherd with her brindle coloration) and probably a little lab and cattle dog. Her first adopter overfed her considerably so she needs to shed a vew pounds, but her ideal weight is about 50 lbs. She is housebroken as she's never had an accident in the house She would be very happy on a farm or a place with lots of property. She would also probably adjust better if there was another dog to show her the ropes. Ideally we are looking for a local foster that could attend training sessions paid for by the rescue or someone willing and able to afford training on their own.
