About Winston

sweet dog, almost 6,only has one testicle so we didn't cut. had him since a puppy. after the 17 flood he went to licking his leg obsessively and we worked hard to get him over it. he 'self manages' that now. he's outdoors in the day, on the couch in the evenings with us, likes to bark at cats and squirrels but wont harm them if he catches them, and is happy in a comfy cage at night. however, if you startle him and hit his sore spot he freaks a bit, nipped my wife and we can't handle that now. my wife is unsteady at night and has gotten nipped twice. Not an attack but a quick nip - still, we can't deal with that at this stage. we may have crossed the line from master/peer with him a bit letting him snuggle on the couch with us, etc., but i think in an adult happy home he would do well. our last dobie had 11 good years so i hope he does too. unless you basically trip over him he is not aggressive but since he has snipped my wife twice i feel like i have to list that.
