About Gilly

Gilly come to us from not the best situation, really just living outside with not much human contact. She's been in rescue for about 4 or so months now and we feel like she has come a long way and is ready to find her forever home. She is about 5 years old and weighs maybe 10 pounds and is full grown. She is crate trained and potty pad trained. Now that we know alot about her, we feel it will be best that she go to a home with no kids. If you have grandkids that will visit, she should be put in another room. She loves and adores other dogs, so we feel that she would definitely benefit from having a sibling. She will be a dog that for the foreseeable future, will do best IN the home and in the yard. She will not be a dog right now that will go out visiting, go to the stores, or even for a walk, she is still just too fearful of the unknown. We are looking for a family that will be calm, kind and patient with her as she adjusts and decompresses. She will be shy and fearful, and she needs to know that you understand that. This could very well mean just leaving her alone for a while, not touching her, and let her come out of her shell. She is actually a very sweet and gentle girl once she decompresses, so we know there is a family out there that will give her the time and space she needs to flourish. Is that your family? It is necessary and important to give a dog time, understanding, patience and kindness while they are adjusting to their new lives. Time to decompress. It is up to us to teach them how to navigate our world, not punish them or be impatient with their timeline. The more time you give with NO expectations, the deeper and more loving your relationship will be with them. Time is the MOST important gift you can give to your dog. We are a FORCE FREE rescue. The adoption contract you will be signing specifically states that you agree to NEVER use any aversive methods nor tools like a shock, prong or choke collar. Please, consider everything when making a decision to adopt a dog. As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. You may need to come back to us to complete shots, spay or neuter, hw test. You will receive 6 mths of HW preventative.You will receive a free bag of premium dog food, as well as a gift card from Choice Pet Market if you live in one of the designated zip codes. We give you 4 training classes, this is MANDATORY (but on hold right now) and will be scheduled at a later date and place
