CODE RED - 9 YR OLD GORGEOUS SPITZ/SHEP MIX AT LA CITY / HARBOR SHELTER TO BE PTS THURSDAY, 7/2 AT 4 PM - RESCUE ONLY MEDICAL - NEEDS RESCUE/ FOSTER/ADOPTER/PLEDGES BY THAT TIME! HELP PLEASE!! LOBO - A1939193 - RESCUE ONLY - MEDICAL LA City/Harbor Shelter, Los Angeles, So Cal Someone just sent me this last minute warning that this gorgeous 53 lb, 9 year old spitz breed dog (maybe part husky, shep, chow, kees?) must exit by Thursday, 7/2 at 4 pm (extended from the original date of 6/28) due to an ulcerated tumor. Looking at the picture of his open wound is beyond heartbreaking. He was found as a stray on 6/1, almost 4 weeks ago, yet there are no notes to even suggest or at least clarify if any medical treatment was provided. Behavior notes: Today's assessment (6/28) with people and other dogs, the shelter said, '06/28- Took Lobo out today for a dog intro. Lobo was asleep in his cubby when I approached so I closed him out and looped him from his cubby. Took him to the yard. Walked nicely. At fence greeting Lobo perked up immediately when he saw Mika A#1938184 Paced with a soft loose body and waggy tail, would cry out of excitement. Once Mika entered they sniffed briefly and then they both explored the yard together with no issues. Old gramps just wants to do his own things and be left alone or seek affection on. Going back he walked right in and I removed his leash with the help of another leash since he is very sensitive to touch around his face / neck.'
