About Angel

Domestic Cat

Need a home with no other animals !! Foster /Adopter, deserves so much more !! This is a very hard posting for me to make. Maybe some other rescues can identify with this situation. I have debated long and hard whether to write this but I'm at an unfortunate crossroad. I rescued Mocha last March from the Manhattan city shelter. It seemed her biggest medical issue was diarrhea. Her bio said owner surrender. Too many pets. They had her for 8 years. Lived with cats and dogs. Did mention might prefer not to live with other pets. Sent her directly to a vet so she could get full bloodwork done and address any medical needs. Found a very experienced foster with other cats. Kept mocha separated. We discovered a few things. Changed her food which helped greatly with her bowel issues. She was put on meds but still wasn't 100%. Over time Mocha medically improved but she become very aggressive toward the other cats in the home. We tried just keeping her in the bathroom but this didn't go well. We had to board her. During this time we kept trying to find the right foster. She eventually became cage aggressive but thankfully being boarded at a cat hospital they would put her in a room so she could walk around. A couple of months ago my first foster found what we thought would be the answer. A family who's cat passed away and we're experienced with medicating. They also have a small dog which was the unknown. All was going well until a few weeks ago. Once again as Mocha got more comfortable she became aggressive toward the dog. It has gotten to the point where the dog is afraid to walk around his own house. We have tried mocha on gabapentin in the hopes she would relax. Isn't helping. I've posted her before with no response. I feel like I have failed this cat. She just wants a home she can call her own. A home where she's the center of attention. This is heartbreaking for everyone who has tried to help her. I don't want this cat to live her life in a cage. This is my final plea to try and find her a home. Call or text Frankie's feline fund 917-514-0228. Would love for her to stay in the New York area but willing to try to transport her for the right home. Can also call Kat at 516 4573678
