About Sissy

URGENT adopter or foster needed for Sissy. She's in a very temporary situation and needs someone asap. Meet miss Sissy sassy pants! This young girl is a 1-2 year old, 50-pound, shepherd/hound mix located in the Hingham area, south of Boston, MA. She's full of charisma and energy but will melt your heart with her big doe eyes. She was found in a parking lot and spent a week on stray hold and sadly, nobody came for her. She has the energy of a puppy, legs for days, and can clear a 48' half door from a standstill! We know she will do best with an active owner and would make a fabulous running partner! Or if agility is your jam, she might be your girl! She loves snuggles and face kisses and loves everyone she meets. She is house-trained 100%, does great in the car, and doing well with crate -training. In a nutshell, Sissy is a giant puppy and needs all the structure that goes into training a good canine citizen-she's learning about not jumping, being redirected for barking, slowing down her roll when walking on leash, and redirecting mouthing (a leftover from not being taught differently as a pup). Sissy is super human-friendly and has the zest for life though she's still a work in progress; however, she's had some hiccups because of her false start in life. She has nipped heels and even bit her foster's hand once (not serious!) but we believe in her ability to excel and even be a good canine citizen. Sissy's ideal adopter has experience with dogs. She requires a home with only adults, but savvy teens for this fur-teen are ok. She wants a fenced yard with some room to run. She is currently fostered with another pup and does ok with a playmate with a similar rough and tumble playstyle. She can also be placed as an only dog, but no cats.
