About

Adoption Fee: $75
Bengal / Abyssinian
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Aliza Amaretto is a beautiful red orange and white short hair female approx. 5yr. Her adoption fee is $75. She has been vetted and spayed. She is good with nice people and older kids but she wants to be the only pet to have her people all to herself. Adopted as a kitten then taken to the kill shelter because the family had a baby and a rough 2 year old child and Aliza was not happy. Her new mom was volunteering at the shelter and saw how sad and angry she was in the cage so she adopted her. Amazing things have happened since being in a loving, calm, cat friendly environment. She has really softened up. Sadly, Aliza's mom has had to move in and take care of her parents so she is locked up in a room. As much as she is loved the unselfish decision had to made, for Aliza's sake, to get her a happier home. THEY DIDN'T TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT AND DUMP THEIR RESPONSIBILITY ONTO THE KILL SHELTERS. THEY MADE THE EFFORT AND GOT HELP. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, they need an adjustment period. Patience, love and space will be needed for a few days. After her adjustment period Aliza is a wonderful kitty and great company. She does not like to be manhandled (who does!) She is not an in your face attention hog but like many female cats, she needs you when she wants you. She will tell you when enough is enough or don't touch me there. Simply 'read' her. She loves to play, run up to you and give hugs, and sit near you while you watch your favorite movie. She's spunky, lovable, and independent all in the same breath. She loves interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. She also loves the red laser lite and goes bonkers for it, occasionally climbing the wall. She doesn't always love to be picked up and played with but will come up to you and let you know when she wants love. She has good manners and stays off the counters. She doesn't care for hard kitty treats but she loves catnip and rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor. She loves a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in so she can pretend like she is catching the birds. She will share you bed and sleep all night if you don't pay attention to her. She has been free fed quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of Fancy Feast morning and night. She needs a home with lots of love, things to explore, and places to cat nap. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Aliza Amaretto FOR LIFE!
